Day 1- ): Arrival into Siem Reap Airport - Beng Mealea (The blueprint for Angkor Wat)

Warmly welcome at Siem Reap airport. Meets on arrival with private transfer to your hotel of choice for check-in, Then continuing from the hotel you will drive on to explore the more remote temple of Beng Mealea, often described as the blueprint for Angkor Wat. Built under control of Suryavarman II, this 12th century temple, overgrown with roots and vines, is in a much collapsed state retaining a very atmospheric feel. Venture into darkened doorways skirting crumbling pillars and walk down the long promenades lined by naga balustrades. Take advantage of walkways to traverse the ruins and scramble over tumbled stones in the less - explored courtyards.

This evening you will also get a chance to have Sunset and a bird’s eye view of Pre Rup temple /Bakheng Mountain and the surrounding countryside.

After your Angkor tour, you will be taken back to your hotel for refresh.
Evening - Explore - Siem Reap Night Life

Day 2- ): Early Angkor Wat Sunrise and Exploration

a sunrise tour starts at pre-dawn to witness the breathtaking view of Angkor Wat temple, the best place for photography. Continue to exploration of Angkor Wat [AD 1113], one of the mankind’s architectural gems. Take advantage of the relative cool and tranquility of the morning to explore the central complex and surrounding bas-reliefs. I would recommend visiting this temple in the morning instead because it is more peaceful, taking either a local breakfast or returning to the hotel for late breakfast.

After such an early start you can decide, if you feel like exploring Siem Reap town in the mid-late morning, more temple sites or relax with a massage and swim before lunch.

PM: Banteay srei and Ta Prohm temples

In the afternoon, you will have taste other of the Angkor temples. Travel across ancient reservoirs (long since devoid of water), through pretty villages and paddies to Banteay Srei [AD967], some 37km distant. This beautiful pink sandstone temple is well-known for its intricate carvings, of which hardly any space is left untouched and it's in perfect state of preservation.

On your way back, visit to the temple of Tomb Raider movie [Ta prohm], one of the most beautiful temples in the area. Ta prohm has been left relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery.

Angkor Thom-the world's largest city in the 12th Century.

Enter the ancient city of Angkor Thom at the Victory gate before uniquely walking along the beautiful causeway through the forest to the seldom visited Bayon temple centre of the Angkor Thom. Explore this important temple with its many captivating giant stone faces. Also you will see the most interesting of the detailed bas - reliefs illustrating everyday life in the Angkor era, and the imposing Baphoun and walk (1km) through the shaded parkland behind the terrace, learning about the trees and fruits used locally, pass Phimeanakas with its beautiful lakes to finally reach the Terraces of Elephants/ Leper King.

After your Angkor tour, you will be taken back to your hotel for refresh.
Evening - Explore - Pub Street.

Day3-): Hunter/gatherers on Tonle Sap Lake

Morning:
Beyond the temples lies a rural landscape which is often little changed since the days of Jayavarman VII. To depart Siem Reap having seen only the temples ruins is to miss contemporary Khmer culture and a living history of rice and fishing subsistence lifestyles. As infrastructure and technology encroach upon the countryside this opportunity will soon be lost forever.

By road to the great Tonle Sap Lake is the richest fresh water fishing ground in the world, a national treasure producing an ever-changing landscape. The communities that live around the margins of the lake cope with huge seasonal variations in water levels by building their homes on floating bamboo rafts or 30ft stilts. It is well worth the extra effort to get away from the touristy village of Chong Khneas to the more genuine stilted Villages - Kompong Kleang or Kompong Pluk  Fishing Village* (dependent on water levels) - for an understanding of contemporary lake life.

Afternoon: Old market and Artisans D'angkor
Explore the Old market for your typical souvenir shopping, selling all kinds of wonderful and exotic foodstuffs too. Whenever you are in the market for uniquely wrapped spices, hand- woven silk Ikats or Kromar - the Khmer fashion staple. Continue visit the Artisans D'angkor Centre, one the best work shops in town excellent quality sandstone, wood.

After your Angkor tour, you will be taken back to your hotel for refresh.
Evening - Explore - Night markets
